How we handle a load
Sorting on the job
When appropriate, we separate reusable, recyclable, and disposal-bound materials as the load comes together, based on the condition of the items.
Reuse and recycling first
Items in usable condition can be separated from material that is ready for disposal. Recyclable materials are directed according to what local facilities accept.
Disposal as the last stop
What cannot be reused or recycled is disposed of according to local facility requirements. Some materials require special handling, which is why we ask about unusual items before booking.
Why it depends on the load
A water-damaged mattress and a gently used dresser leave the same house but do not deserve the same destination. Condition decides what can be reused; material type decides what can be recycled; and local facility requirements decide the rest.
That is also why we do not publish diversion percentages — every load is different, and we would rather sort honestly than advertise a number.
